Dear St. Margaret’s Community,

impactIn our 2008 Strategic Plan, we set a three-year goal to foster awareness and understanding of St. Margaret’s Episcopal School in our local community. A significant component of this goal was to issue a Community Impact Report to the residents, businesses and local officials of San Juan Capistrano.

Over the past year, we have commissioned an economic impact study with an independent research firm and compiled and analyzed other meaningful ways St. Margaret’s impacts our local community. The result is a new report that will be mailed to you and our San Juan neighbors in the coming days.

This report presents our:

• Long-term and deep commitment to our community as a responsible neighbor and conscientious citizen through active involvement and service.

• Significant positive economic impact to San Juan Capistrano.

• Position as a top City employer.

• Plans for the future, including an overview of our campus master plan.

• 30-year history as an exceptional educational institution in San Juan Capistrano.

Please look for the 2009 Community Impact Report in your mailbox and take a few minutes to review. We hope this report provides new information to you about St. Margaret’s and our role in the community, and that it reinforces your existing understanding and commitment to our school and mission. Feel free to share this information with your friends and neighbors and let us know if you have any questions or comments by emailing: communications@smes.org.

Sincerely,

Marcus D. Hurlbut

Headmaster
