Join Us This Friday: Tennis Grand Slam Champ Lindsay Davenport and SJC Mayor Join SMES to Celebrate Girls Tennis Back-to-Back CIF Championships
The community is invited to a celebration on Friday, December 18, at 10:30 a.m., in the Pasternack Field House.
CIF Championships are hard to accomplish. Coming into the 2009–2010 school year, our Tartan athletic teams had won 17 CIF Championships in the 30-year history of St. Margaret’s. Last year, our Varsity Girls Tennis team completed a perfect, undefeated season capped with the team’s second CIF Championship, the first being in 2002. In a Southern California division that is rife with steep competition, the Tartans did it again this year. This November, the Girls Team completed another undefeated season and won back-to-back CIF crowns.
Before we head off for Christmas vacation, we invite you to please join us this Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Pasternack Field House as we come together as a school community to celebrate and honor the Girls Tennis team and our coach, Rick Trager, who was just named The Orange County Register’s Tennis Coach of the Year.
Tennis great Lindsay Davenport, who has won three Grand Slams and an Olympic Gold Medal, will join us to congratulate the team, as well as San Juan Capistrano Mayor Dr. Londres Uso, who is also the proud parent of a Tartan Alumnus.
We hope you can make it! Don’t forget to wear your Tartan colors!
