The SMES Literature Discussion Series is open to all St. Margaret’s community adults and friends. NASA Astronaut Dr. Michael Gernhardt will visit St. Margaret’s Episcopal School to talk with students in grades 4 – 12 about NASA, the preparation and role of an astronaut, space exploration and scientific discovery tomorrow, May 21 in two assemblies in the Pasternack Field House. Please join Headmaster Marcus D. Hurlbut and school leadership for the final Tartan Talk of the school year on Friday, June 4 at 8:45 a.m. in Sillers Hall. The talk will focus on the year-end state of the school report, and will include details on the physical, operational and programmatic changes to our campus next school year related to campus construction.

The St. Margaret’s Boys Volleyball team has capped another outstanding season reaching the CIF Championship game for the second year in a row. Seeded second in CIF, the Tartans have easily reached the final match by sweeping each of their opponents during playoffs. Last night’s victory over Vistamar High School 25-16, 25-21, and 25-18 set-up the championship match against Arrowhead Christian the number four seed.
Come out to support the Tartans and wear your Tartan blue on Saturday May 22 at 1:30 pm at Cypress College.

Tuesday, June 1, at 3 p.m. in the garden of the ECDC building, we are gathering to remember Michele Leeder, St. Margaret’s ECDC teacher from 1997–2004, who died of lung cancer this fall. Fr. Rob will lead us in prayer and remembrance as we install a St. Francis statue in her memory. Anyone from the St. Margaret’s community who loved and remembers Michele is welcome to join us.

The number-two seeded Boys Volleyball team has reached the Quarterfinals of CIF Playoffs and will play Summit High School this Saturday, May 15, at 7 p.m. in the Pasternack Field House.
After capturing Academy League Championships in both Boys and Girls Track and Field, St. Margaret’s had 16 athletes qualify for CIF. They will compete in Carpinteria, on Saturday May 15.
The Baseball team qualified for CIF playoffs for the first time in three years and will start play Thursday, May 20. More information to follow on the St. Margaret’s Athletics …
