All St. Margaret’s families are welcome to join in the 2009 St. Margaret’s Homecoming festivities on Friday, November 13. The afternoon and evening will be packed with events. Show your Tartan pride at the pep rally, tailgate party for alumni and their families, and at the homecoming game!

Announcing the 2009 St. Margaret’s Middle School Musical, Once on This Island, Jr. The book and lyrics are by Lynn Ahrens, with music by Stephen Flaherty. The musical is directed by Performing Arts Department Chair Darcy Rice.
This highly original and theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale “The Little Mermaid” garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run, including Best Musical, Book and Score. Tickets for the Upper School performance of Children of a Lesser God, a play by Mark Medoff, are available now, for $15, at through Brown Paper Tickets: http://brownpapertickets.com/.
The play, published in 1980, focuses on the conflicted professional and romantic relationship between teacher James Leeds and his hearing-impaired former student, Sarah Norman. Children of a Lesser God is rated PG-13 for adult themes and strong language. An American Sign Language interpreter will be available for both of the Saturday performances.

On Wednesday, November 4, 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m., in Sillers Hall, the St. Margaret’s Librarians will host a Family Read Night in conjunction with the Scholastic Book Fair. The Librarians will read some wonderful books aloud, and children can hear the stories and meet Clifford the Big Red Dog in person. Stop by any time from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
