The St. Margaret’s Summer Session offers students from Preschool through Grade 12 the opportunity to embrace the mind, body and imagination in a variety of academic and enrichment courses. Small class sizes offer a challenging and creative curriculum to enrich and accelerate a student’s academic program. Sports camps focus on sportsmanship and teamwork, and the afternoon camps enable kids to meet new friends in a safe and fun atmosphere. Kenley Farace, a seventh grader at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, won the Orange County Spelling Bee and will compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., in early June, an event televised by ESPN.
Kenley competed against 70 other local students, the largest field in Orange County history, and triumphed in round 13 with the word “secessionist” first to edge out the remaining contender and then with “evulsion,” meaning to pull out or to extract, to capture the trophy.

Last week, seven St. Margaret’s seniors attended the 10th annual Harvard Model Congress simulation in San Francisco. Harvard Model Congress San Francisco has long carried a proud tradition of teaching youths about the intricacies of American government through hands-on simulations and debates. Beginning last September with the student’s request for roles, these seven students worked hard to prepare themselves for these four days of intense government simulation, in which they excelled.
